House Republicans show frustration with MTG for not participating in any votes this week

Republicans Disappointed in Greene’s Absence from Votes

Some House Republicans are feeling let down by Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, who missed all votes this week. This follows her public clash with President Donald Trump and comes ahead of her expected resignation from Congress.

Greene (R-Ga.) recently announced her resignation effective January, prompted by Trump labeling her a “traitor” who merely knows how to “COMPLAIN, COMPLAIN, COMPLAIN,” despite his “Record Achievements for our Country.”

In response to Trump’s remarks, Greene hinted that his criticism might be linked to her comments about his economic policies, as well as her collaboration with GOP Representative Thomas Massie (R-Ky.) on a discharge petition related to Jeffrey Epstein.

“I was called a traitor by a man that I fought for six years and gave my loyalty for free,” Greene remarked during a press conference last month alongside Epstein abuse survivors. “I won my first election without his endorsement. I fought for him, for the policies, and for America first. But he called me a traitor for standing with these women and keeping my name on the discharge petition.”

“Let me tell you what a traitor is. A traitor is an American that serves foreign countries and themselves. A patriot serves the United States and Americans like the women behind me,” she added.

Since then, some GOP members have criticized Greene for not participating in votes, a crucial matter given the narrow Republican majority in Congress.

“It’s disappointing that someone who runs for office and promises to serve their constituents for two years doesn’t seem willing to follow through. But that’s her choice,” said Representative Andy Harris (R-Md.).

An anonymous GOP representative told The Hill that Greene “doesn’t appear interested in fulfilling her voting responsibilities any longer. It’s unfortunate.”

“Every member makes their own choices. I realized that getting frustrated with someone doesn’t change the situation in Washington, so I’m not quick to frustration, but yes, I am disappointed,” they continued.

Meanwhile, House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) finds himself with one less GOP vote while needing support for significant Republican legislation, including urgent government funding and national defense bills.

“With a slim margin, every vote counts. There are folks on both sides, so we need to strategize for a two-vote margin. Even if she’s not here, we have to adapt,” stated Representative Kevin Hern (R-Okla.).

“We need every vote possible. It’d be ideal if she returned. Honestly, I’m not sure what occurred this week; that’s between her and her constituents,” he added.

On her official X account, Greene recently engaged with her constituents in Murray County, speaking out against Vanguard Renewables’ plan to establish a bio-waste facility. This project has been put on hold by a state agency due to community backlash.

“Tonight, I stood up for the people of Murray County who REFUSE to be ignored by Vanguard, BlackRock, or any globalist entity trying to impose a biowaste facility here where it’s NOT wanted! America First means supporting the men and women right here in Northwest Georgia, not the out-of-touch elites who think they can come in, lecture us, and leave,” Greene shared on Thursday, along with a video addressing the local community.

“These folks behind me are TIRED! They’re enduring pressure from BlackRock, Vanguard, and every elite who assumes rural America won’t resist. Murray County has inundated my office with calls, and I’m here to fight for this community. This is an age-old story—big corporations exploiting rural areas, thinking there won’t be pushback. But Murray County is making their voice heard! They’re DONE being marginalized. I stand with them!” she concluded.
