Colts' Daniel Jones sustains Achilles injury

During a game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, Indianapolis Colts quarterback Daniel Jones exited with a serious injury to his lower leg while attempting to pass the ball.

Jones, already dealing with a fractured left fibula, fell awkwardly and grabbed his right Achilles tendon in frustration. Despite the injury, he managed to walk to the locker room with some difficulty.

The Colts confirmed he would not return to the game due to the Achilles injury.

Meanwhile, Colts backup quarterback Riley Leonard took over during the game. This matchup was crucial for both teams in the AFC South, as they were tied for the lead in their division, not to mention the importance for playoff implications.

Jones had entered the season with impressive stats: 3,041 passing yards and 19 touchdowns, aiming for MVP and Comeback Player of the Year honors. This injury, however, has put those aspirations in jeopardy.

After playing the last season with the Minnesota Vikings, he signed with the Colts as a free agent, having been released by the New York Giants earlier in the year.

Over his career with the Giants, Jones amassed 14,582 passing yards, 70 touchdowns, and 47 interceptions over 70 games.
