Texas Rep. Jasmine Crockett Announces Senate Bid
Texas Democratic Representative Jasmine Crockett has officially declared her candidacy for the U.S. Senate, shedding light on persistent rumors with a campaign video that might entertain audiences now and possibly Republicans later.
Crockett has been weighing her future, debating whether to remain in the House or step up to the Senate. On the final day to file for the 2026 election, she made her announcement.
In a highly anticipated reveal, her campaign shared a video where she gazes thoughtfully into the distance, blinks slowly, and gives a brief smile. The clip carries a vintage cinematic touch, reminiscent of past political figures.
However, rather than outlining her vision for Texas or detailing campaign promises, Crockett is seen listening to President Donald Trump as he repeatedly claims she has a “low IQ.”
Trump comments, “What about Crockett, their new rising star? They’re in big trouble.” He continues to assert, “I saw her speak the other day, and she’s definitely a low IQ person.”
While Trump’s remarks provide some comedic relief, they might also highlight a pattern among Democrats focusing primarily on differentiating themselves from Trump instead of presenting compelling policies. This approach has not always proved successful.
For instance, during the 2024 presidential election, former Vice President Kamala Harris’s campaign was criticized for its emphasis on Trump rather than addressing the concerns of the American people, leading to unfavorable voter reception.
