Protests Erupt Over Jasmine Crockett’s Senate Bid in Texas

From the halls of the Texas Capitol to Hollywood, there’s a wave of protests regarding Democratic Rep. Jasmine Crockett’s campaign for the Senate. She’s under heavy scrutiny for her progressive policies and active social media presence.

Crockett, recognized for her dynamic online interactions and pointed debates on the House floor, officially launched her Senate bid on Monday. She portrays her campaign as a direct challenge to former President Donald Trump, a stance that sitting Republican Senator John Cornyn has opted not to take.

“I feel like I’ve been watching the American Dream struggle while President Trump tried to bring it down,” Crockett stated. “Now, the gloves are off, and I’m ready to enter the ring.”

Meanwhile, Rep. Brandon Gill (R-Texas) quickly responded to her announcement, criticizing Crockett’s record on issues like law enforcement and border security.

“Texans want a representative who prioritizes law and order, and that’s certainly not Jasmine Crockett,” Gill remarked during an appearance on “Hannity.” He further noted that her approach could be perceived as overly lenient, suggesting she might be the most “pro-crime” candidate the Democrats have nominated.

Gill highlighted Crockett’s previous support for movements aimed at defunding police, arguing that her stance suggests a troubling outlook. “Crockett has publicly stated that not all who commit crimes should be labeled as criminals,” he added. He also mentioned that her views on illegal border crossings further illustrate this point.

Additionally, Gill suggested that Democrats might be misinterpreting the political climate in Texas. “Keep in mind, this state went for President Trump by 14 points,” he pointed out. “She claims she doesn’t need support from Trump voters, but that’s not entirely accurate.”

The pushback against Crockett isn’t confined to politics. Actor Zachary Levi, a Texas resident, expressed his opposition during an appearance on “Gutfeld!” saying, “I live in Texas. I appreciate this state, and I really wouldn’t want her as my representative.” He criticized her social media behavior, suggesting it might alienate potential supporters.

“Many seem to dig themselves into a hole on social platforms, posting things that can come across as odd,” Levi noted. He believes that those in her potential base might be put off by such antics.

Levi further emphasized the expectation for politicians to act like responsible adults, encouraging them to engage in more meaningful actions that resonate with voters.
