Travis Kelce seems to have reached his lowest point with the Chiefs.

Travis Kelce is feeling down as he faces the tough reality of the Chiefs’ performance, now sitting at 6-7 for the season.

Reflecting on their 20-10 loss to the Texans, a game where he had a key drop that led to an interception, he expressed his frustrations. Kelce stated that he’s struggling to find solutions as the reigning AFC champions seem to be missing the mark in critical moments.

“You put in so much effort and hope it pays off. Right now, whatever the reason is, it feels a bit petty,” Kelce said during a recent episode of the New Heights podcast.

He continued, “In past years, I felt like I had answers. But this time, I just can’t figure it out. I’m doing all I can—working hard, honing my skills, and trying to play my best for my teammates. Yet, something is off this year.”

The Chiefs, who entered the game with a record of 6-6, knew they had little room for mistakes if they wanted to keep their playoff hopes alive.

Quarterback Patrick Mahomes had a challenging night, throwing three interceptions and failing to score any touchdowns. Meanwhile, Kelce managed only one catch for eight yards from five targets.

In a pivotal moment late in the fourth quarter, with the team down 17-10, Mahomes attempted a pass to Kelce, which instead bounced off his hands into the grasp of Texans linebacker Azeez Al Shaair.

Currently, the Chiefs find themselves outside the AFC playoff picture, with only a 12 percent chance of making the postseason as of midweek.

This Sunday, they face the Chargers (9-4). A win could improve their chances to 19 percent, while a loss might reduce them to less than 1 percent.

Kelce remains determined for the rest of the season, saying he’ll continue to put in his utmost effort. “Every game matters to me. I’ll treat it like it’s the most important one,” he noted. However, he recognized that reality was tough, especially since the team had usually found a way to succeed in recent years. “It’s frustrating to drop the ball like that, particularly when it feels like your last chance,” he shared.

Looking ahead, he mentioned the remaining four games, affirming that fans deserve a strong finish. Kelce, a three-time Super Bowl champ, has dedicated his career to the Chiefs and plans to decide his future in early 2024.

Additionally, it’s been noted that he and his fiancée, Taylor Swift, are set to marry on June 13, 2026, a detail highlighted given her presence at the recent game.

The upcoming game against the Chargers is scheduled for Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.
