On December 5th, podcaster Tim Poole reported that an unidentified vehicle approached his remote recording studio in West Virginia and fired several shots at the facility. According to his account, which hasn’t been verified by law enforcement, no one was harmed, and security teams promptly addressed the situation.
John Doyle, host of “The John Doyle Show,” expressed deep concern over these events. He questioned the implications of Poole, described as “one of the disgruntled Occupy Wall Street liberals who saw the excesses of the left,” being targeted. Is he now seen as a real conservative?
While Poole identifies as center-left, most of his interviews are with right-wing individuals. It seems that merely engaging in honest discussions might have made him a target. This incident isn’t the first; Poole previously relocated his studio in 2022 following multiple swatting incidents, personal information leaks, and death threats that compromised his safety.
Doyle points out that those targeting Tim Poole don’t care about his moderate stance or that he’s just having conversations. For them, any deviation from their radical leftist views justifies violence, aiming to eliminate the far right, center right, and even center left.
Still, some folks hold onto the belief that dialogue can lead to solutions, thinking that eventually, things will settle down and reason will win out. “Sadly, the situation doesn’t feel as optimistic these days,” Doyle reflects.
Doyle comments that he holds a position that seems to validate Mr. Boomer’s perspective, noting that it’s hard to envision an “innocent Democrat” in the current climate. He acknowledges that while “unity is very popular,” it tends to be called for when there’s a fair chance for all—something he believes is lacking now.
He’s not advocating for division; rather, he’s calling for accountability—not from moderates, even if they enable these issues—but from those who have fostered extremist ideologies that rationalize violence against individuals like Tim Poole.
“It’s those people I’m referring to. I don’t want unity with them,” he asserts.
