Nancy Mace says police accounts of her profanity-filled incident at the South Carolina airport were 'fabricated'

Mace Accuses Authorities of Falsifying Police Report

Congresswoman Nancy Mace has alleged that officials “falsified” a police report concerning an incident at a South Carolina airport, where she expressed frustration over a delayed escort.

The Charleston Airport Police Chief, James A. Woods, detailed in a 10-page report that Mace, aged 47, became upset when a supervisor misidentified her car, causing a delay in her meeting with the police before she was supposed to walk to her gate on October 30.

“Well, some of the reports were actually falsified,” Mace remarked during an interview with Caitlan Collins, indicating that the situation felt like a “political hit job.”

She contended that the released video didn’t capture her allegedly accusing anyone, but rather showed her seeking assistance from security staff.

“Conveniently, there’s no audio. Last time I checked, it’s not against the law to ask for help, and I’m not complaining,” she stated, clearly agitated.

Mace acknowledged dissatisfaction with her airline experience but claimed that most statements in the police report were inaccurate, particularly those where she supposedly called officers “fucking idiots” and “fucking incompetent.”

When Collins questioned whether she was implying that the police officer was lying, Mace clarified, “No, what I’m saying is that it’s partially false and it’s a doctored document.”

She argued that many of the quotes in the report were untrue and requested that police release any audio or body camera footage of the incident, only to be told that such evidence did not exist.

“I categorically state that that report was falsified, 100 percent fictitious and falsified,” Mace asserted. “I’ve never called them a fool in any way, shape, or form. I’ve never called anyone a fool.”

Despite her claims, when airport officials finally arrived to escort her, Mace reportedly directed her anger at them. The police report quoted her as saying, “I’m tired of waiting, I’m tired of waiting, you don’t have to wait. [f–king] It’s late, this is [f–king] ridiculous.”

According to the officer’s account, Mace’s demeanor was described as “very unpleasant,” with other police and security personnel feeling “visibly shaken” and “oppressed.”

Mace insisted that the escort was necessary due to “multiple threats to security,” alluding to recent events where, she stated, Collins had received “numerous death threats” following the shooting of conservative influencer Charlie Kirk.

“In the aftermath of Charlie Kirk, we’ve seen the number of death threats increase exponentially. I receive death threats on a daily basis, so many people are currently being held in prison without bond,” she claimed.

Reflecting on the incident, Mace remarked, “It was effective. It was a very effective political blow. But that was it,” referring to the police report.
