Who is Paige Shiver, the assistant to dismissed Michigan coach Sherrone Moore?

Recently dismissed Michigan football coach Sherone Moore, who is 39, is under investigation for allegedly breaking into the apartment of Paige Shiver, a newly promoted executive assistant and daughter of long-time Chicago Bears scout Jeff Shiver.

Moore was taken into custody on Wednesday after police responded to a call about potential assault around 4 p.m.

Records obtained suggest that Shiver resides at the apartment complex where one-bedroom units cost around $1,800 monthly.

According to audio from the police call, a female caller indicated that Moore had been stalking her for months while armed with a knife.

The recording also revealed that Moore threatened self-harm before he fled on foot; he was later apprehended at a nearby church.

It remains unclear if Shiver, who is 32, is the alleged victim in this incident.

Shiver had been sharing images from Michigan games on social media, but has since set her accounts to private. Reportedly, her salary increased significantly—rising from $58,025 to $90,000—over the past fiscal year.

A graduate of Purdue, Shiver was promoted to executive assistant to the head coach in mid-November.

A video resurfaced showing Moore and Shiver together on the sidelines during a Michigan women’s lacrosse game in April 2024.

Interestingly enough, Moore had liked Shiver’s Instagram posts from previous years, and her account reveals connections with Moore’s wife, Kelly, who has been married to him for a decade and has three daughters.

This incident follows Moore’s recent firing by Michigan athletic director Ward Manuel due to what was described as an “inappropriate” relationship with an unidentified staff member.

There were rumors circulating about Moore’s conduct, so pervasive that Manuel personally questioned coaching staff about their relationships and urged anyone to present evidence against Moore if they disagreed with the rumors.

Allegedly, Shiver provided detailed information about the relationship to Manuel after feeling slighted, leading to Moore’s termination, effective immediately, which negates any financial obligations from the university related to his contract valued at $14 million to $16.5 million.

After being informed of his dismissal, Moore reportedly went to Shiver’s apartment not long before his arrest.

Currently, Moore is expected in court on Friday after spending two nights in the Washtenaw County Jail, though the specific charges have yet to be disclosed.

Biff Poggi has been appointed as interim head coach for the No. 18 ranked Wolverines, who are set to conclude the 2025 season against No. 13 Texas in the Citrus Bowl on New Year’s Eve.

Responses from local police departments have not been received yet, and attempts to reach Moore and Shiver have been unsuccessful.
