Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene from Georgia is set to return to “The View” on January 7, just two days after her planned departure from Congress.

Greene, who has transitioned from being a strong backer of former President Donald Trump to one of his notable critics, had a friendly conversation with the show’s hosts during her previous appearance last month. She remarked on the importance of respectful dialogue, saying, “I think we’re all doing a great job of sharing our ideas in a professional and kind way. We need more of that in America, I believe.”

During the show, co-host Joy Behar expressed her surprise at Greene’s increasing criticism of Trump, even suggesting she might consider switching parties. Greene firmly responded, “I’m not a Democrat,” but acknowledged her dissatisfaction with both political parties.

In a more recent appearance on “60 Minutes,” which marked her first interview since announcing her resignation, Greene faced backlash from Trump. He criticized CBS and its ownership over Greene’s appearance, asserting that the network had deteriorated under the new management. He expressed his disdain for what he deemed poor journalism regarding himself, stating, “60 Minutes has actually gotten worse since they bought it!”

Throughout the year, Greene attracted attention, especially for her critiques of Trump’s administration on various issues, including Jeffrey Epstein, healthcare, and foreign policy.

There has been ongoing speculation surrounding Trump’s distancing from Greene, particularly with rumors that he advised her against a Senate run in 2026 amidst concerns over her popularity in Georgia against Democratic incumbent Jon Ossoff. Greene has denied these claims.

In her resignation announcement, she expressed frustration with what she described as a corrupt political landscape, one that manipulates Americans for divisive agendas. She stated, “Americans are exploited by the political-industrial complex of both political parties every election cycle,” and lamented that the situation doesn’t improve for the average citizen.
