Gavin Newsom mocks Elon Musk about his son who identifies as transgender — and Musk replies

Elon Musk and Gavin Newsom in Tense Exchange Over Transgender Issues

Elon Musk responded to California’s governor, Gavin Newsom, who had mocked the billionaire over his relationship with his son, Xavier, who identifies as transgender.

In his defense of transgender healthcare, Newsom criticized Musk’s views, drawing reactions for being in poor taste.

Musk fired back by stating, “I believe you are referring to my son, Xavier, who suffers from a tragic mental illness caused by the evil awakened mind virus you introduced.” He continued, expressing his desire to see his transgender children and highlighting his support for pro-trans legislation.

Newsom shared a video where he evidently compared his bond with his transgender godson to Musk’s connection with his son. He notably said, “Yes. I’m sorry your daughter hates you, Elon,” directly addressing Musk.

In his reply, Musk took a more measured tone. “I love Xavier very much, and I hope he recovers,” he stated, while also mentioning his other daughters, Azul, Exa (Y), and Arcadia, affirming, “They really love me very much.”

This back-and-forth led some to criticize Newsom’s comments. Republican Senator Ted Cruz called him a “disgusting bastard” and urged that children be left out of such disputes. Palantir founder John Lonsdale echoed similar sentiments, labeling it “pure evil” from the government. Kayleigh White from Fox News suggested that the left’s agenda seeks to separate children from their parents.

Interestingly, Newsom is viewed as a leading contender for the 2028 Democratic presidential nomination, boasting 24% support among Democratic voters, with only Pete Buttigieg ahead at 28%.
