Arrests Made in New Year’s Eve Bombing Plot

Five individuals have been detained on suspicion of planning a bombing for New Year’s Eve, reportedly linked to far-left extremists. One suspect, a transgender military veteran, allegedly expressed a desire to “reenact Waco” when speaking with immigration officials, as detailed in a recently released criminal complaint.

Micah James Regnon, a 29-year-old from Louisiana known online as Kateri Thewitch and Dark Witch She/Her, was arrested on Saturday. According to the complaint, Regnon had been in contact with suspected members of the Turtle Island Liberation Front (TILF), which was allegedly organizing to set off pipe bombs at various businesses and targets associated with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) indicated that Regnon may have intended to carry out an attack in New Orleans concurrently with another planned incident in California.

The complaint also claims that Regnon posted inflammatory comments on social media, referring to Border Patrol agents as “masked bastards.” Notably, an Antifa journalist reported that Regnon’s social media content repeatedly called for violence against those labeled as “fascists.”

Additionally, Regnon was described as having previous military training, specifically from the Marine Corps. The complaint noted that Regnon discussed strategies for urban warfare with co-conspirators, even mentioning numbers that resembled those from military battalions, and spoke about marksmanship and combat fire tactics.

The other four suspects arrested in Los Angeles include Audrey Carroll (30), Zachary Page (32), Dante Garfield (24), and Tina Rai (41). It’s worth mentioning that Page, who is also transgender, requested to serve in a women’s prison.

These five were reportedly affiliated with a TILF offshoot group using the name Order of the Black Lotus. During a search in California, investigators uncovered signs promoting messages like “Death to America” and “Long Live Turtle Island and Palestine.”

The thwarted bombing plan, referred to as “Operation Midnight Sun,” involved placing explosive-filled backpacks at two businesses in Los Angeles, with details noted in a handwritten plan found by law enforcement.

The term “Turtle Island” originates from Indigenous cultures, referring to North America.
