Celebrating the Best Movie Sex Scenes of 2025

A well-crafted sex scene can truly captivate an audience, expressing our fundamental desires while pulling viewers deeper into the characters’ lives. On the flip side, a poorly executed scene can leave viewers feeling uncomfortable or disconnected, potentially ruining the film’s atmosphere. So, when I come across a genuinely good sex scene, I think it definitely deserves some recognition.

The way sex is portrayed in Hollywood has shifted over the years. Only two of the highest-grossing films of 2025, Sinner and Wicked: For Good, featured notable sexual content. It’s almost surprising, really. I can’t help but feel a bit sorry for what wasn’t included. For instance, Evil just didn’t make the cut; it had some cringe moments that were hard to ignore. However, Sinner certainly earned its spot on this list.

  The body horror film Together, starring Alison Brie and Dave Franco, has an unforgettable sex scene. Directed by Michael Shanks, it features the real-life couple as a fictional pair dealing with some bizarre circumstances. Imagine having sex in an elementary school bathroom while literally fusing into one another. It sounds wild, and the chemistry between them keeps it engaging, despite the bizarre premise. It’s definitely my top pick for the year; part horror, part charm—it’s a train wreck you can’t take your eyes off.

  Sinner doesn’t hold back, and I have to give credit to Ryan Coogler for that. Hailee Steinfeld definitely shines in her scenes. The scene starts with a playful ear pinch that leaves a memorable impression before leading to an intense climax. There’s something so hot about it, even without explicit nudity.

  In Naked Gun, there’s a ridiculously funny sex scene featuring a “sexy snowman.” Directed by Akiva Shaffer, the film captures the absurdity of its ’80s roots. It’s absurd, it’s hilarious, and frankly, it might just be the funniest sex scene of the year.
