Baltimore Ravens Secure Playoff Hopes with Win Over Packers

The Baltimore Ravens found themselves in a precarious position heading into Week 17, needing a victory against the Green Bay Packers to keep their playoff aspirations alive.

Derrick Henry was called upon to step up, and he certainly made an impact.

He started strong—gaining early yardage and scoring three times on the ground in the first half. His first was a 3-yard touchdown, followed by another 1-yard score, and then, right before the break, he added another 3-yard touchdown.

In the fourth quarter, Henry added a 25-yard touchdown, just as the Ravens held a 10-point lead, sealing the game at 41-24. Remarkably, he tallied 216 yards on 36 carries throughout the match.

Henry’s performance was especially crucial as Lamar Jackson, the team’s offensive leader, was sidelined due to a back injury. Tyler Huntley stepped in as the starter and managed 107 passing yards, completing 16 of 20 attempts. He also threw a significant touchdown pass to Zai Flowers late in the game.

With this loss, the Packers were officially out of contention for the NFC North title, which shifted to the Chicago Bears. Green Bay also missed key player Jordan Love for this crucial matchup.

Malik Willis, taking the reins for the Packers, threw for 288 yards and one touchdown, while also contributing 60 rushing yards along with two rushing touchdowns. His effort was commendable, though he exited the game due to a shoulder injury.

Christian Watson stood out as a key receiver for the Packers, recording five receptions for 113 yards and a touchdown.

As for the Ravens, they now hold their breath, hoping for an upset with the Cleveland Browns potentially taking down the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday. For the moment, though, they can take pride in their hard-fought victory, at least for one evening.

Baltimore and Pittsburgh are set to meet in Week 18.
