Woman in New York City stabbed by neighbor upset about dog while attacker’s boyfriend restrained her in elevator, according to authorities.

A 30-year-old mother in the Bronx was reportedly restrained by a neighbor during a dispute concerning a dog, leading to the tragic stabbing of her girlfriend in an elevator.

On Sunday night, Beyon Johnson, 24, and her boyfriend Sally Cece, 21, became involved in a confrontation with Shashamani Thompson, Johnson’s mother, at their Highbridge apartment. Prosecutors have indicated that Cece now faces murder charges.

The attorney for the accused claims that the tensions stemmed from Thompson’s dog being allowed to roam freely in the hallway, suggesting that the victim instigated the altercation that escalated into violence.

Sapone, the defense attorney, highlighted that the dog’s ongoing presence in the hallway had been a point of contention in the building, with various residents voicing concerns.

However, Bronx prosecutors described the event as a brutal two-on-one assault. According to them, Johnson, who is currently recovering in the hospital after being arrested, stabbed Thompson multiple times while Cece constrained the victim and shouted threats.

During the proceedings, prosecutor Schuyler Siebert revealed that the couple allegedly disposed of the injured Thompson from an elevator. Remarkably, she managed to identify her attacker, stating, “6D girl did it,” before succumbing to her injuries. Johnson is suspected to live in Apartment 6D, and the confrontation was captured on video and audio surveillance.

Sapone argued that the evidence against Johnson appears more compelling than that against Cece, insisting that Johnson’s case should not be unfairly overshadowed.
