TreVeyon Henderson of the Patriots Encourages Fans to Prioritize Christ Instead of Material Gain

As 2025 came to a close, one of the NFL’s standout running backs shared a heartfelt message of faith with his fans, emphasizing a deeper fulfillment beyond worldly pursuits.

On December 30, Treveyon Henderson posted a well-known Bible verse alongside a picture of himself cooking on a griddle. It served as a gentle reminder that chasing after wealth and celebrity often doesn’t lead to genuine happiness.

In his post, Henderson quoted, “Whoever wants to come after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me. Whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will find it. If a man gains the whole world, but loses his soul, what will it profit him? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?”

Henderson has emerged as a rookie sensation in the NFL, helping lead the Patriots to a 13-3 record and playoff contention, a remarkable turnaround from the prior year’s struggles. He is a strong candidate for Rookie of the Year, racking up over 1,000 all-purpose yards and eight touchdowns.

Notably, Henderson is also one of the most vocal Christians in the league. He participated in this season’s “My Cause, My Cleats” initiative, teaming up with Global Christian Relief, which advocates for persecuted Christians globally.

In a video for the organization, he reflected, “Reading the Bible and examining Jesus’s teachings reveals the realities of the persecution faced by followers of Jesus. We understand there’s much happening, but often it goes unnoticed.”

He also noted that this awareness truly changed his perspective, highlighting the continued relevance of Jesus’s warnings.

Drafted in the second round by the Patriots after an impressive career at Ohio State, he played a pivotal role in the Buckeyes winning the national championship in 2024.

His social media bio states, “Jesus Saved My Life / Follower of Jesus Christ / Running Back.”
