Angel Studios Hits Top 10 in Box Office

Angel Studios, with a vision to provide family-friendly entertainment and promote positive values, has made its mark in Hollywood. In 2025, it ranked among the top 10 studios for box office gross.

Films like David, the King of Kings and Last Rodeo showcase a growing market for family films infused with emotional depth. Interestingly, the studio was ranked 14th last year.

Initially recognized for its distribution of The Chosen One, Angel Studios has broadened its focus to feature films and series. Their goal? To create content that embodies ideals they describe as “true, honest, noble, just, authentic, lovely, admirable, and excellent,” as noted on their website. They also operate a dedicated streaming service.

According to reports, Angel’s films collected a total of $161.8 million at the box office in 2025, which places it above Amazon MGM Studios at $123.5 million, but below Focus Features with $212.7 million. Disney led with a staggering $1.9 billion, followed by Warner Bros. at $1.8 billion and Universal at $1.5 billion.

A significant milestone for Angel was reaching over 2 million paid guild members—communities that get involved in the studios’ projects. Neil Harmon, co-founder and CEO, expressed that this growth highlights the audience-centric approach they take with values-driven storytelling.

It’s worth noting that this isn’t the first time Angel has breached the top 10—they ranked 8th in 2022. Yet, this year feels especially noteworthy. Back in 2022, they had just one major success with Sound of Freedom, which earned $184.1 million. In contrast, three films crossed the $15 million mark in 2025, notably King of Kings and David, both exceeding $50 million. The studio doubled its output in 2025, releasing nine films compared to just four in 2022. They also went public this year.

Other additions to their 2025 lineup include Homestead and Senior.

As the company points out on its website, much of the current media landscape seems to promote negativity and division. They believe that true light and hope can counteract despair, aiming to connect creators and communities aligned with their values. They stress the urgency of selecting and sharing impactful stories that resonate.
