Eva Mendes Shares Life in England
Eva Mendes, at 51, recently provided a peek into her life in England through a series of Instagram videos. She’s seen walking in her garden with the family’s two dogs, Lucho and Magic, while wearing a light blue sweater and matching skirt.
“When I’m testing my health, I’m reminded of how silly it is to stress over the big things in life. Lucho and Magic are alive,” Mendes expressed in her post.
Just days prior, fans spotted her and partner Ryan Gosling as they stepped out of their red brick home.
In one of her videos, Mendes was pondering whether to wear a jacket belonging to Gosling or her own. She humorously captioned the moment, “Baby, it’s cold outside. A shacket? Or my man jacket?”
The duo, who recently relocated to England, made the move while Gosling was busy filming the upcoming “Star Wars” movie, “Starfighter.”
Mendes and Gosling initially crossed paths in 2011 on the set of “The Place Beyond the Pines.” Since then, they’ve kept much of their relationship private.
“I don’t talk about Ryan or the wonderful dad he is because I prefer to keep that part of my life private,” Mendes noted in a social media post from 2020. “I believe it’s better to share what makes me happy without involving him or our kids too much.”
Two years later, rumors of marriage surfaced after Mendes was seen getting a tattoo featuring Gosling’s last name.
While she keeps mum about their relationship, Gosling has been quite vocal, stating, “She looks after the girls, and when she’s working, I’m home with them. I wouldn’t be here without her,” referring to Mendes’ support in his career.
Although Mendes aids her partner in developing his acting skills, she’s also contemplating her own return to the screen after more than a decade away. “I wonder if there will be interesting roles,” she mused in 2024.
She paused her acting career over ten years ago to focus on raising her daughters, Esmeralda and Amada. “At a certain point, I felt I had achieved what I wanted, especially working with Ryan,” she reflected, describing that collaboration as a peak in her career.
Her last film was “Lost River,” released in 2014, and while she’s proud of her work, her children aren’t quite as impressed. Mendes shared that her daughters have never watched her movies. “They don’t care,” she stated, recounting how she once tried to show them a scene from “Hitch” to demonstrate her bravery in facing fears, but they were far more interested in playing outside.
“One time, one of my daughters was scared, so I thought, ‘This is my moment to shine,’” she recalled, playing them a song and hoping to inspire them with her story. “Instead, they were like, ‘Okay, can we go outside now?’ They weren’t impressed at all!”
