Brewers’ Prospect Hurt in Car Crash
Milwaukee Brewers’ top prospect, Frank Cairone, was hospitalized on Friday following a serious car accident near his home in New Jersey, according to a statement from the team.
“Frank is currently receiving treatment at a hospital in New Jersey with the support of his family,” the Brewers said. “Our thoughts and prayers are with Frank and his family during this difficult time.”
The 18-year-old left-handed pitcher was selected 68th overall in the 2025 draft, coming from Delsea Regional High School in Franklinville, New Jersey.
This unfortunate incident comes just as the team revealed concerns about their players in Venezuela, especially after a recent U.S. military airstrike and the capture of President Nicolas Maduro. It’s a troubling situation, to say the least.
Brewers’ Baseball Operations Manager, Matt Arnold, commented over the weekend about the uncertainty. “We don’t have much information at this time, but we are trying to follow up,” he noted. There has been worry about the players’ safety, especially with the airport being closed.
Among the Venezuelan players are notable figures like star outfielder Jackson Chorio, infielder Andrew Monasterio, and catcher Jefferson Quero. The team is understandably anxious as they navigate through these complicated circumstances.
