Sarah Foster Celebrates Arrest of Venezuelan Leader Nicolas Maduro

Sarah Foster shared her joy over the recent U.S. arrest of Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro, taking to social media to express her thoughts. The daughter of music icon David Foster highlighted her long-standing support for families in Venezuela, urging followers to understand the harsh realities faced under Maduro’s rule.

“People are just addicted to being angry,” she posted on X. “While you’re angry, Venezuela is happy for the first time in 25 years.”

On Friday, U.S. military personnel took Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores, from their military base and transported them to Iwo Jima, where he faces federal charges.

Foster’s Perspective on Politics

Foster, in a video, mentioned, “I didn’t vote for Trump; I wasn’t thrilled to vote for Kamala, but I did.” She explained her efforts over the years—providing food, medicine, and other essentials to children in Venezuela. “I’ve developed close ties with local families who have suffered unimaginable loss,” she added.

“I can’t imagine parents not being able to provide their children with basic necessities. I’ve talked to families, mothers who watched their children die on their floors. I can’t imagine it.”

For over a decade, Foster has been vocal about Venezuelan issues. “Before you criticize, consider the conditions people lived under in Venezuela,” she implored. “Today, Venezuela is not occupied; it’s truly liberated. It’s essential to learn about this.” She also acknowledged the potential complications, saying, “Sure, maybe this situation involves oil or something complex, but today marks a positive turn for the people of Venezuela.”

Details on Maduro’s Charges

Maduro was charged with leading a narco-terrorism conspiracy related to cocaine trafficking into the U.S. His wife also faces charges linked to decades of drug trafficking. These legal actions stem from indictments that were filed back in 2020.

According to Gen. Dan Cain, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, “Operation Absolute Resolve” involves over 150 aircraft, showcasing a collaborative effort among military, intelligence, and law enforcement entities to detain the couple.

At a press conference, alongside President Trump and other officials, Gen. Cain emphasized, “This operation underscores our commitment to justice and the need to hold accountable those who disrupt peace and stability.”
