Matt Kalil Sues Ex-Wife Over Controversial Comments
Divorce often stems from a significant issue, and for NFL veteran Matt Kalil and his ex-wife, model Hailey Khalil, that issue is unexpected. Kalil, 36, has filed a lawsuit against Hailey after she made remarks about his masculinity during a recent livestream. He claims her comments were “invasive” and affected his desire to maintain a low profile following his NFL retirement.
During the livestream with Marlon Garcia in November, Hailey referenced her ex-husband’s anatomy, describing it as “two coke cans, maybe a third,” and suggested that this aspect contributed to their divorce in 2022.
In his lawsuit, Matt contends that Hailey’s remarks have generated “unwanted public attention and invasive comments,” forcing his family to endure ongoing scrutiny from these degrading statements.
The former Viking player married Hailey in 2015, and their union lasted seven years. In 2024, Kalil wed Keilani Asmus, with whom he has a one-year-old son.
According to the complaint, Hailey’s comments have adversely affected Keilani, who has received increasingly distressing messages over time.
The suit accuses Hailey of disclosing “very intimate and personal facts” about Matt, seeking over $75,000 in damages and a jury trial. It also claims that she leveraged her marriage to gain social media revenue.
Hailey insisted that her ex-husband’s anatomy was a significant factor in their marriage’s downfall, even demonstrating with her arm to illustrate its size. “It sucks… it sucks our entire marriage,” she remarked. “But I was going to try everything. We tried everything. Therapists, doctors. There wasn’t even a lie… It’s kind of funny. My life is like a comedy; it writes itself.”
Following the backlash from her comments, Hailey expressed concern for Matt’s privacy and highlighted her positive memories of their time together. “I care very much about respecting his privacy and the integrity of what we shared,” she stated. “During our livestream, we discussed more than just what grabs attention: the love in our marriage, the growth we’ve experienced, the depth of our connection, and more.”
