Political Tensions in Minnesota Over Fraud Crisis
Minnesota House Speaker Lisa Demuth expressed that many Americans would be “shocked” by the extent and duration of fraud issues in Minnesota. She underscored the importance of electing a Republican administration to facilitate true change in the state.
“As Minnesota Republicans, we’ve been raising these concerns for years, but Democrats have largely ignored or concealed them,” Demuth stated during an appearance on America’s Newsroom.
She also noted her appreciation for House Oversight Committee Chairman Comer, emphasizing the significance of the hearing involving three Minnesota representatives.
Demuth has previously accused Governor Walz of neglect in overseeing these fraud allegations, particularly as they gained attention on a national scale.

In an earlier conversation with Fox News Digital, Demuth attributed the ongoing fraud—which includes misuse of day care subsidies, Medicaid, and other public assistance programs—directly to Walz’s administration.
“The governor needs to take full responsibility,” she asserted.
Demuth warned that allowing another Democrat to succeed Walz would essentially grant the incumbent a third term. “If the Democrats run in 2026, that’s a significant issue; it’s like a third term for Tim Walz,” she explained.
To truly enhance the state and restore integrity to taxpayer funds, she believes Republican leadership is essential.
Walz has been quick to counter Republican accusations while taking a firm stance against Trump and his supporters. “The responsibility lies with me, and due to that, I will not seek another term,” he announced at a press conference.
He accused Republicans of fostering a narrative that unfairly paints minorities as perpetrators in the fraud claims, asserting, “Their approach to improving the state seems to mimic everything Trump supports. But that, I assure you, isn’t happening here.”
