JD Vance introduces task force to combat fraud following Minnesota scandal.

New Task Force Announced to Tackle Fraud

On Thursday, Vice President J.D. Vance revealed a new federal task force aimed at fighting fraud throughout the nation. He noted that the Justice Department plans to establish a deputy attorney general position specifically focused on misconduct, complementing the already significant efforts that include around 1,500 subpoenas and 100 indictments.

Vance expressed optimism, stating that an announcement regarding the new appointee could happen “within the next few days.” He emphasized, “This is the person who will ensure that fraud against the American people is stopped.”

“We’ve created a large interagency task force so we can really get to the core of this fraud,” Vance continued. “Fraud isn’t limited to Minneapolis; it’s occurring in places like Ohio and California too.” The vice president made these comments during a briefing with White House Press Secretary Caroline Leavitt.

In related news, Vance’s comments came after a tragic police shooting in Minnesota, which he attributed to a “coordinated attack” from a “broad leftist network” against federal officers in various states. This incident involved a woman named Renee Nicole Good, who was reportedly armed and attempted to run over a police officer, according to Noem. She claimed Good had been “stalking and interfering” with federal employees throughout the day and emphasized that Good did not comply with orders to exit her vehicle.

This incident has been categorized as “domestic terrorism” by the agency involved. A strong response from local officials is anticipated as Governor Tim Walz has prepared the National Guard amid the fallout from these events, insisting that “we’ve never waged war” with the federal government.

Vance later took to social media to defend the actions of the officers involved, suggesting that his critics were “gaslighting.” This came after arguments surfaced from those claiming the officers had overreacted. In his remarks, Vance described the situation as tragic, while also criticizing the narrative that he felt was misleading. “A tragedy? Absolutely. But it’s one that affects this woman and the extremists who push the idea that immigration laws allow for such chaos,” he said.

This is an evolving story, so stay tuned for further updates.
