Marshon Lattimore Arrested on Weapons Charges

Marshon Lattimore, a cornerback for the Washington Commanders, has been arrested in Lakewood, Ohio, facing charges for carrying a concealed weapon in a vehicle as well as improperly handling a firearm, according to police records.

The Commanders confirmed to the New York Post that they were aware of Lattimore’s arrest and are “gathering further information.” They added that they have contacted the NFL league office but have no additional comments for now.

Lattimore’s arrest occurred Wednesday night when he was a passenger in a vehicle pulled over for expired license plates and other traffic issues. Law enforcement noted he failed to inform officers about the firearm in the car when they inquired about it.

After being booked, Lattimore was released from custody, and there was no bail involved. Interestingly, this isn’t his first encounter with the law; he had previously pled guilty in November 2021 for a similar charge regarding a concealed weapon. This past incident also occurred while he was in a vehicle that was stopped due to traffic violations.

In that earlier case, he received a sentence of one year of probation due to his failure to report the weapon.

Currently, Lattimore has just finished his ninth season in the NFL, with this being his first full year on the Commanders after transferring from the New Orleans Saints in 2024. Unfortunately, his season has been cut short following an ACL tear suffered during a game against the Seattle Seahawks, limiting him to just nine games this year.

He was drafted 11th overall in 2017 after an impressive run with the Ohio State Buckeyes. During his time with the Saints, Lattimore made four Pro Bowl appearances, including three consecutive years from 2019 to 2021.

In total, across 108 career games, Lattimore has recorded 16 interceptions, 436 total tackles, and several other notable stats.
