Season 2 of the pit Kicks Off

Season 2 of the pit opens with Dr. Robbie (Noah Wyle) starting his last shift before he takes a three-month break at the fictional Pittsburgh Trauma Hospital. Who is keeping things in check during the nighttime hours? In the first season, the highlights included Dr. John Shen (Ken Kirby), Dr. Parker Ellis (Ayesha Harris), and Night Assault Nurse Lena (Leslie Boone).

The “Night Shift” team quickly became a fan favorite, especially during the mass casualty event at Pitfest. Dr. Shen brought a light-hearted vibe, fueled by his love for Dunkin’ coffee. Dr. Ellis exuded confidence and had a playful, “Coach, put me in” approach. Nurse Lena, the cool-headed counterpart, kept her composure throughout the upheaval. And let’s not forget Dr. Jack Abbott (Sean Hatosy), whose clever medical strategies left everyone impressed.

And there’s also Dr. Emery Walsh (Tedra Millan). Upon her arrival, she was tasked with overseeing the coordination between the emergency department and the surgical team. Much like her colleague Dr. Yolanda Garcia (Alexandra Metz), Dr. Walsh has a quirky yet confident personality, often sharing interesting facts during operations.

What’s Next for Dr. Emery Walsh?

So, I guess we know Sean Hatosy’s Dr. Abbott will return at some point this season, but—will we see Dr. Emery Walsh again? Is she part of Season 2?

Unfortunately, it seems our favorite night shift surgeon won’t make an appearance. Tedra Millan, the actress who plays Dr. Walsh, revealed on her personal Instagram that she won’t be part of this season. In a recent post, she noted, “Dr. Walsh isn’t working this shift, but these people are amazing,” alongside some enthusiasm for the season premiere.

This means Dr. Walsh will be taking a necessary break for now.

In real life, Tedra Millan is busy with her role in Ethan Slater’s new Off-Broadway production, marcel on the train, set in New York City. She’s also fitting in time for her pottery hobby.

Meanwhile, speaking of the night shift crew, it was reported that Luke Tenney from abbott elementary will portray Dr. Cruz Henderson, a fourth-year resident joining the night shift later in the season.
