Ashley Tisdale shares a serious phone call

As the drama surrounding the so-called “toxic” mom group heats up, Ashley Tisdale was seen out on her own, engaged in an important phone call.

The “High School Musical” actress was spotted in Malibu on Friday, dressed casually in a light pink sweatshirt and brown leggings while chatting away on her smartphone.

Her laid-back outfit was completed with turquoise socks and black sneakers, and she styled her brown hair in soft waves.

At one point, she was photographed wearing white, retro-style sunglasses. She also had a water bottle with her as she strolled through a sunny shopping mall, texting along the way.

This solo outing by the Disney Channel alum comes amidst controversy following Tisdale’s recent essay in The Cut, where she labeled her past mom group as “toxic.” In the piece, she expressed feelings of inadequacy after being excluded from gatherings.

Tisdale, 40, mentioned that she had texted the group to announce her decision to distance herself, stating it felt “too high school.” Although she refrained from naming anyone, it’s believed she was part of a circle that includes notable mothers like Hilary Duff, Mandy Moore, and Meghan Trainor.

In a show of support, Hayley Duff liked The Cut’s post about Tisdale’s article, while Duff’s husband, Matthew Koma, appeared to criticize Tisdale in a vague Instagram Story, suggesting she was being “self-absorbed.”

On another note, Trainor humorously shared a video of herself looking up “mom group drama” online, reacting in surprise to the unfolding situation, all while her song “Still Don’t Care” played in the background.

Daryl Sabara, Trainor’s husband, tried to downplay the issue, telling TMZ, “There’s no drama here,” and expressing optimism about Tisdale’s wellbeing. A source, however, seemed to support Koma’s pointed remarks, claiming that he “gave her what she wanted” and described Tisdale as “intolerable.” They also noted that the tensions had been brewing for a while.
