Voter Fraud Confession in Washington State
A former apartment manager in Washington state has allegedly admitted to forging several ballots for the upcoming 2024 general election.
The individual in question, 52-year-old Esperanza Contreras, resided in Pasco, Washington, where he was employed as an apartment manager. He later relocated to Hermiston, Oregon, where he registered to vote.
Interestingly, ballots intended for the 2024 general election were still sent to Contreras’ previous address in Pasco, as stated by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office. They noted that one of these ballots was filled out, submitted to the auditor’s office, and ultimately counted in the election.
Moreover, three additional ballots that were dispatched to former residents of the same apartment complex where Contreras worked were observed to have what the sheriff’s office termed “suspicious features.” Of those, three ballots were counted, while one was discarded over a “signature mismatch.”
During questioning by detectives, Contreras reportedly confessed to voting on all four ballots and forging his signature.
As a result, he has been arrested and faces 12 felony charges linked to voter fraud and identity theft.
“Voter fraud damages the integrity of the election process and erodes public trust in election fairness,” the sheriff’s office added. They expressed their commitment to investigating any violations related to election laws.
According to reports, Contreras claimed to police that his intentions were to assist his former tenants, although this raises questions about the legality and ethics of his actions. Notably, the outcome of the 2024 election in Franklin County couldn’t have hinged on just four votes. In fact, Donald Trump won Franklin County by a margin of over 7,000 votes, despite the state leaning more toward Kamala Harris overall.
