"I'll Really Take You Down": Actress Thora Birch Goes Off on Fan

Thora Birch In Confrontation with Fan Over Autograph

Thora Birch, recognized for her role in “Hocus Pocus,” was recently filmed in a tense confrontation outside a Beverly Hills hotel. The altercation unfolded on Saturday at the Four Seasons Hotel, where she was accompanied by her husband, Michael Benton Adler. He accused a fan of persistently bothering Birch and approaching her aggressively on the street. During the incident, Adler reportedly took a photo from the fan that featured Birch and ripped it apart.

“I’m going to knock you out,” Birch exclaimed while her husband restrained the man.

The situation escalated into a lengthy shouting match, with Adler stepping between Birch and the fan as physical pushing ensued. Video footage from the confrontation captures the intensity, just shy of punches being thrown.

It all started when the fan asked Birch for an autograph, which she declined, prompting her husband to step in. According to reports, during the heated exchange, Birch shouted, “Who the hell are you from fucking Israel?” The fan responded by claiming he was from Puerto Rico and demanded compensation for the photos that had been damaged.

As the man continued to advance, Birch’s husband raised his hand in defense, denying any assault. “Did you hit him? Did you hit him?” he questioned, while onlookers insisted otherwise. Birch admonished the fan, asserting, “You can’t do that,” as he persisted in getting closer.

Things took a turn when Adler expressed his anger, stating, “If I hit you, you’re going to die,” and called on bystanders to intervene with the man. Turning to a bystander filming the incident, he dismissed the fan’s claims, saying that they were merely trying to leave when the confrontation erupted.

Despite the escalating tension, fans remained unyielding in their pursuit of autographs. Adler described the man as a “crazy, crazy man,” while Birch urged others to “act now.” Eventually, Birch and her husband issued a joint statement expressing regret over the altercation, stating, “We deeply regret the escalation.” They explained that as they were departing, a man had followed Birch from a private area seeking her autograph.

Birch indicated that she was attempting to calm the situation during the disagreement, adding that her husband, who is Jewish and has relatives in Israel, was just trying to imitate an accent.

They concluded their statement with an apology for any misunderstandings caused during the incident.
