George Kittle’s Injury Updates

San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle recently posted a heartfelt message following a season-ending injury to his Achilles tendon during the playoff win against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Kittle shared a poignant photo on Instagram, showing him being carried off the field alongside his wife, Claire, along with a panel from the comic “Calvin and Hobbes.” His post reflected a mix of pride and disappointment.

“Football really has its downsides,” he expressed. “But I truly love this game and my teammates. I’m feeling quite heartbroken right now, yet I’ve received such incredible support from everyone. I’m going to be okay. Thank you to all. Our journey isn’t finished yet!”

He also remarked that meeting the team owner in the locker room was a sign of being part of something special.

In the playoff match, Kittle managed one catch for 6 yards before the injury. Coach Kyle Shanahan later confirmed that Kittle had indeed torn his Achilles tendon, which means he will miss the remainder of the playoffs.

The veteran tight end has spent nine seasons with the 49ers, playing 11 games this season with 57 catches for a total of 628 yards and seven touchdowns. He faced multiple injury setbacks throughout the season, including a torn hamstring, but continued to play a crucial role in supporting the team amidst various injuries across the roster.

Despite Kittle’s absence, the 49ers finished the season with a 12-5 record and are set to face the Seattle Seahawks in the next round of the playoffs.
