Scott Adams, the creator of “Dilbert,” is facing a significant decline in his health as he battles prostate cancer. He is now in hospice care at his home in Northern California, according to his ex-wife, Shelley Miles.
Miles, who was married to Adams from 2006 to 2014, revealed that he started receiving “end-of-life care” at home just last week, with her, her sister, and Adams’ stepdaughter assisting in his care, along with a nurse.
Earlier this month, Adams provided a health update on his podcast, “Real Coffee with Scott Adams.” He mentioned that his prognosis is not promising. “I spoke to the radiologist yesterday, and it was all bad news. My chances of recovery are basically zero,” he indicated. He continued by saying that he has no feeling in his legs and is also experiencing heart failure and occasional breathing difficulties during the day.
In May, Adams had shared his diagnosis with his audience, noting he dealt with pain daily and used a walker for several months. “If you’re wondering if I’m ever going to get better, the answer is no. It’s only going to get worse,” he had expressed at that time, emphasizing a clear path of decline.
In November, he made a public appeal to President Donald Trump for assistance in scheduling chemotherapy treatments meant to prolong his life. This caught the attention of Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who reached out for contact details.
Adams began developing “Dilbert” comics back in 1989 but faced backlash in early 2023 when several newspapers removed his work following racist comments he made. Since then, he has launched an online subscription service called “Dilbert Reborn,” which he promotes as “uncensored and spicier.”
