Secretary Hegseth’s Texas Tour
On Monday, Secretary Pete Hegseth visited several locations in Texas as part of the Department of the Army’s “Arsenal of Freedom Tour.” This initiative is a month-long, multi-state effort aimed at enhancing the U.S. military’s capabilities.
During his time in Irving, he administered the Oath of Enlistment for Navy recruits and engaged with defense industry leaders at Lockheed Martin in Fort Worth. At this event, he expressed that the military would not support far-left ideologies such as diversity, equity, and inclusion.
“No more DEI. No more men in dresses,” he declared, which earned him applause from attendees.
He continued, “No more climate change worship, no more social justice, no more political correctness. It’s over. We are preparing combatants who are ready, trained, disciplined, responsible, and lethal.”
Hegseth also made an appearance at SpaceX, where he shared the stage with founder Elon Musk. Musk detailed SpaceX’s vision of turning science fiction into reality.
In his speech at Starbase, Hegseth highlighted how the Trump administration is actively addressing bureaucracy to prioritize military innovation. He commended SpaceX employees, stating, “What you have built and what you will build here is a testament to the strength of American ingenuity and invention.”
Furthermore, he criticized the defense industrial base, noting that, since the end of the Cold War, it has become challenging for new creators to collaborate with the War Department. He emphasized the need to end this culture of risk aversion that limits military resources.
“That ends today,” he proclaimed. “While our potential adversaries were engaged in a wartime arms race, we were done running peacetime science fairs.”
Hegseth announced that xAI’s Grok will be incorporated into GenAI.mil, which features the Department’s advanced artificial intelligence capabilities. He noted that Google Cloud’s Gemini was integrated in early December.
According to the Army, “Pentagon bureaucracy has hindered the speed and power of our nation’s manufacturing base, stifling innovation.” Under President Trump’s leadership, the focus is on fully utilizing the defense industrial base to secure peace through strength.
In summary, these initiatives reflect an urgent priority to provide U.S. warfighters with the cutting-edge equipment they need to succeed on the battlefield, signaling a revival of American manufacturing.
