In Minneapolis, liberal protesters convened in reaction to an incident involving ICE’s shooting of Renee Nicole Good. Sarah Gonzalez, a host on Blaze TV, expressed a strong sentiment that we’re experiencing a “civil war atmosphere.”
“I genuinely think they want violence,” Gonzalez remarked. “So, just to be clear: I believe they are aiming to destabilize America from within, and they seem to really want a civil war.”
She noted that over the weekend, civil unrest escalated, with protesters again risking their safety to obstruct ICE agents who are arresting criminals. “That’s the heart of the matter. They’re there to create difficulties for law enforcement officers focused on apprehending actual offenders,” she added.
Video footage from the protests revealed a man shouting about purchasing a gun and learning to use it, declaring that “the time has come for armed resistance against America.”
Gonzalez insisted that the government must take these threats seriously. “Any protester who threatens ICE officers, saying, ‘If you get a gun, I’m going to kill you,’ should absolutely be arrested,” she stated.
She continued, “We’re well beyond free speech at that point. You can’t just threaten someone’s life. It’s unacceptable. Trust me, I know people who have faced prosecution for similar threats.”
She also expressed disbelief at the reasons behind the protests, equating them to previous riots in Minneapolis. “What’s happening on the left seems increasingly absurd. There’s a riot over someone who tried to shield a Somali criminal from deportation. Honestly, I find it hard to fathom; it seems even more ludicrous than the George Floyd protests,” she noted.
“It’s incredibly frustrating… if you obstruct ICE agents, if you make reckless decisions and endanger your life, they’re going to act to protect themselves and others,” she concluded.
