Conservative Journalist Describes Chaotic Encounter in Minneapolis
Independent journalist Nick Souter recounted the “horrifying” aspects of being a conservative in Minneapolis during an appearance on “Hannity.” His account focused on a distressing incident from the previous weekend, where he claimed anti-ICE protesters surrounded his vehicle and became aggressive.
Souter emphasized his role as an independent reporter, saying, “When legacy media leaves, I’m here to show what really happens.” He pointed out that traditional media often departs when situations get tense, underreporting the reality on the ground.
Despite the escalating tension, he continued filming, determined not to let fear silence him. However, things took a darker turn when it seemed protesters used violence to push him out of the area. “They decided they were going to use a brutal assault against me,” Souter stated, mentioning the protesters had thrown a frozen water bottle at him, which he likened to a brick.
He described this tactic as a common one among certain groups that have history with causing injuries. With the situation intensifying, Souter and his team chose not to leave or stop recording, holding their ground even as threats grew.
In a troubling 911 call, which was aired during the segment, Souter was heard requesting urgent assistance, claiming that the protesters had blocked his exit and were making death threats. “Our car is under siege. We need help now,” he pleaded.
Amidst the chaos, he posted a video on social media, explaining that he had to flee after his car window was damaged. Another clip showed him removing a frozen water bottle from his truck bed, which had graffiti painted on it.
Even though he faced threats, Souter mentioned that he and another influencer, Cam Higbee, managed to stay safe, expressing gratitude toward the Eagan Police for their support. “It’s scary to be a conservative in Minneapolis right now,” he conveyed, adding that this environment is exactly what local leaders seem to want.
