A woman whose accusations of sexual assault against the Alexander twins, Oren and Aron, initiated a wave of similar claims has been found dead under unclear circumstances in Australia. Kate Whiteman passed away at 45 near Sydney late last year, and local authorities are currently investigating her death, according to a spokesperson for the New South Wales coroner’s office.
So far, no official cause of death has been reported. The spokesperson mentioned that investigations typically commence when there’s uncertainty about whether a death resulted from “natural causes.”
Authorities in New South Wales have refrained from providing comments to the press regarding this case.
Whiteman had previously filed a lawsuit against Oren, co-founder of a brokerage, and Aron, who works in private security, in March 2024. She accused the billionaire twins of raping her in 2012 at Sir Ivan’s Castle, a well-known party venue in Water Mill, Long Island.
According to her civil lawsuit, Whiteman claimed she encountered the Alexander brothers at a Manhattan nightclub in 2012 and was coerced into riding in their SUV on the way home.
The brothers allegedly took her to a luxurious party house in Southampton, where she endured “sexual assault, abuse, rape, restraining, groping, harassment, beating, and fondling,” amidst ongoing internal scandals involving the siblings.
Whiteman’s allegations lit a spark for a multitude of claims, leading to accusations that the twins and their brother Tal had drugged and violently assaulted over 60 women.
While the brothers denied these allegations, in December 2024, they were discovered in Florida, detained by federal agents, and charged with multiple counts of conspiracy and sex trafficking.
Despite this, Oren maintains his innocence and remains in custody. Their trial is slated to begin on January 26 in federal court in Manhattan, with jury selection starting on Tuesday.
Interestingly, Whiteman was not expected to be among the numerous women testifying at trial, as indicated by a source familiar with the situation.
Whiteman’s civil attorney has opted not to comment about the matter recently.
Prosecutors allege that from 2009 to 2021, the Alexanders orchestrated a scheme to entice women by residing in luxury accommodations, traveling abroad, and attending high-profile events, only to drug, sexually assault, and rape them.
In certain incidents, victims were allegedly transported across state borders or international boundaries, sedated, and physically constrained before the assaults occurred, according to the charges.
One victim recounted meeting Oren at an extravagant house party in Miami in 2018, where he engaged her in conversation and then led her to a bedroom, where she was violently assaulted.
Similarly, in another account, a woman mentioned Tal inviting her to a party in New York City in July 2013. After he handed her a drink, she reported feeling “dizzy and disoriented,” leading to a brutal assault by Tal and Oren.
The Alexander brothers gained notoriety in the luxury real estate market as agents with Douglas Elliman before eventually launching their own company, Official, in 2022.
Additionally, the trio is facing multiple civil lawsuits from other women making similar allegations.
Currently, they are detained at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn.
