Brady Discusses Difficulties of Final NFL Season Post-Divorce

Tom Brady recently opened up about the challenges he faced during his last year in the NFL, attributing much of it to his divorce from Gisele Bündchen.

In an interview with ML Football, he reflected on the personal struggles that arose after the couple finalized their divorce in October 2022 following 13 years of marriage. “Last season was tough,” he admitted. “I had a lot of personal family issues, and it was a challenge… It really drained me in terms of my playing ability.”

Having first retired in February 2022 and returning briefly to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before stepping away for good in 2023, Brady emphasized that family always remained a priority for him. “I spent 23 years in football. So I never felt like I was missing anything by retiring. I always had a goal of being 45. I turned 45, and I wanted to spend quality time with my kids, so I thought, okay, now’s the time to be at all my kids’ games,” he explained, noting that they had already attended plenty of his games.

Reflecting on his performance during that challenging season, he mentioned, “I tried to do everything I could to help my team. I felt like I owed it to my teammates and coaches to give my all. I wish I could have been a bit better by the end. But it was just a unique situation and a unique year for me.”

Brady shares two children with Bündchen: Benjamin, 16, and Vivian, 13. Additionally, he has an 18-year-old son, Jack, with his ex-partner Bridget Moynahan.

Meanwhile, Bündchen has moved on, marrying jiu-jitsu instructor Joaquin Valente in December after becoming a mother for the first time again in early 2025.

Brady has also been linked with Alix Earle, and they were seen getting comfortable at a New Year’s Eve yacht party, eventually slipping away to a private cabin to chat.

Prior to this, he had a brief romance with model Irina Shayk following his divorce.
