Incident at Universal Orlando
A 70-year-old woman passed away after experiencing the Revenge of the Mummy roller coaster at Universal Orlando last year, as per details released in state records recently.
The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services reported on November 25, 2025, that the woman, who has not been named, became unresponsive following the ride on this fast-paced indoor attraction, which can reach speeds of up to 45 miles per hour. The information was included in a quarterly report shared last Thursday.
After her ride, she was transported to a hospital but unfortunately did not survive.
The report didn’t specify the cause of her death but did mention eight other guests who reported injuries or medical issues while at Universal between October and December. In addition, the report noted six health-related incidents at Walt Disney World during the same timeframe. Notably, no incidents were logged at other nearby attractions like SeaWorld, Busch Gardens, or Legoland during that period, according to the available data.
Since its opening in 2024, the Revenge of the Mummy has seen a total of 21 reported incidents, with symptoms ranging from nausea and dizziness to seizures and spinal fractures.
Inspired by the movie “Hamunaptra,” this indoor coaster features around 2,200 feet of tomb-themed scenery, fire effects, and memorable footage, completed in about three minutes.
In a statement, Universal indicated that they do not comment on ongoing claims.
This unfortunate incident follows the death of Kevin Rodriguez-Zavala, a 32-year-old man who became unresponsive on September 17, 2025, while riding another attraction, the Epic Universe coaster Stardust Racers. His death was determined to be due to blunt impact injuries.
