Lamar Odom Arrested for DUI in Las Vegas

Lamar Odom has been arrested and charged with DUI in Las Vegas, as per court documents accessed by TotalNews. The former NBA star, aged 46, was taken into custody early Saturday morning on suspicions of drunk driving, along with two other traffic offenses. Reports indicate he was driving over 61 mph above the speed limit and not maintaining his lane.

Odom is set to make a court appearance in Nevada on March 17.

Interestingly, this situation comes more than a decade after his previous DUI arrest in California. Back then, he was sentenced to three years of probation, required to attend a three-month alcohol education program, and had to pay nearly $1,800 in fines.

In his 2019 book, “Darkness to Light,” Odom was quite open about a severe incident in 2015 that led him to a coma for three days. He recounted, “My heart stopped twice. I had 12 seizures and six strokes. My lungs collapsed and my kidneys ruptured. I was on life support.” Those moments were eye-opening for him, as he recognized he could no longer live as he once did.

More recently, in 2023, Odom further discussed his struggles with addiction and past experiences on the Fox special “TMZ Presents: Lamar Odom: Sex, Drugs, and the Kardashians.” He reflected on how his ex-wife, Khloe Kardashian, supported him during a particularly challenging time, which included a near-death experience in a Nevada brothel in 2015.

Odom mentioned, “I had a wife…and I had cocaine.” This admission speaks volumes about the complexity of his life during their marriage, which lasted from 2009 until 2016. Their marriage was notably tested as Odom’s issues with substance abuse became more public, especially highlighted on “Keeping Up With the Kardashians.” Eventually, they finalized their divorce in 2016.
