Piers Morgan announced on Sunday that he underwent surgery after injuring himself by tripping and fracturing his femur at a restaurant in London.
The former “Good Morning Britain” host, now fronting “Piers Morgan Uncensored,” shared a photo from his hospital bed on social media, explaining that he stumbled on a step and broke his femoral neck. This led to the need for a new hip and six weeks on crutches.
Despite his situation, he maintained a lighthearted tone, jokingly saying, “This is a terrible start to the new year,” and playfully assigning blame to Donald Trump.
Morgan’s social media was soon filled with well-wishes for his recovery.
Since 2022, he has been hosting “Piers Morgan Uncensored,” where he often engages with guests from various ideological backgrounds, leading to some heated debates.
Most recently, he clashed with Roger Waters from Pink Floyd, accusing him of supporting terrorists and authoritarian regimes.
During that interview, Waters stated that Russia tried to avoid civilian casualties in its invasion of Ukraine and defended Nicolás Maduro as Venezuela’s “democratically elected leader,” despite widespread condemnation of the election’s legitimacy.
Last year, Morgan also gained attention for his confrontational interviews with figures like Candace Owens and Joy Reid, the latter of whom he quipped was dismissed from MSNBC due to declining show popularity rather than her identity.
