Haas reveals the VF-26 for the 2026 season

New Looks and Challenges for Haas F1 Team

Recently, Red Bull and Visa Cash App Racing Bulls revealed their design for the 2026 F1 season during a live event in Detroit, marking the start of a collaboration with Ford.

Today, the TGR Haas F1 Team became the third team to unveil its design for the upcoming season. They went above and beyond by showcasing not just the new livery but also a digital rendering of their VF-26 car. This year, F1 begins a new chapter, implementing a set of technical regulations aimed at creating smaller and lighter cars.

Haas debuted the VF-26 on social media Monday morning, sharing a video that highlighted its features.

The team also provided some images of the new car.

In terms of color, the design stays true to Haas’s recent trends, prominently featuring white, complemented by black and red elements on the sidepods and wings. The Toyota Gazoo Racing logo, which is part of the team’s title sponsorship, appears on the front wing and engine cover fins.

When looking at the VF-26 compared to last year’s model, one noticeable new feature is the fin on the engine cover, which is quite distinct from the VF-25.

Moreover, the VF-26 introduces several other changes: a smaller front wing, a shift from the previous “overbite” sidepod inlets to a more neutral design, and new exit ducts located on top of the sidepods.

Haas team principal Ayao Komatsu described the unveiling as “surreal.” He expressed excitement about commencing a new F1 campaign, especially amidst significant regulation changes.

Komatsu did mention that this offseason has been one of the most challenging for the team. He noted, “I think so, especially considering our size. New regulations mean financial difficulties.” He went on to emphasize that, being the smallest team, they face unique challenges and a greater responsibility to adapt to these major regulatory shifts.

He further stated, “We need to focus on what we have, what we’re good at, and build on our strengths while recognizing weaknesses. We have to quickly learn about these new regulations. There will likely be surprises once racing begins, so it’s crucial for us to come together and adapt swiftly.”

Next month, the VF-26 will hit the track alongside its competitors. Under the new regulations, F1 will conduct three pre-season test sessions: the first will be a closed event at the end of January, followed by two additional sessions in Bahrain from February 11-13 and 18-20.

Last season, Haas finished eighth in the constructors’ championship.
