70-year-old woman passes away following Universal Orlando's Revenge of the Mummy attraction

A report released by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) states that a 70-year-old woman visiting Universal Orlando passed away after riding the Revenge of the Mummy roller coaster on November 25, 2025. The woman’s identity hasn’t been disclosed, but she became unresponsive during the ride and later died in a hospital. The cause of her death wasn’t mentioned in the report.

The Revenge of the Mummy is an indoor roller coaster known to reach speeds of up to 45 miles per hour, inspired by the films ‘Hamunaptra’ and ‘Hamunaptra Returns’. Since its opening in 2004, there have been 21 reported incidents associated with the ride, varying from nausea and dizziness to more severe issues like seizures and spinal fractures, which KTLA covered.

The FDACS report also pointed out that between October and December 2025, six health-related incidents were logged at Walt Disney World. It’s interesting – or perhaps a bit concerning – that there were no incidents reported at other popular Florida parks like SeaWorld, Busch Gardens, or Legoland.

Earlier this year, another tragic event involved a 32-year-old who died after becoming unresponsive while on the Stardust Racers roller coaster at the Epic Universe park. There have been claims from attorneys representing the family of this individual who said Universal had ignored multiple warning signs and that this wasn’t the first incident of its kind.

Universal Orlando was contacted for a comment, but there hasn’t been a response yet. It’s worth noting that rides with full-time safety inspectors are required to self-report incidents, which are then categorized quarterly.
