Noem: More than 10,000 unauthorized migrants detained in Minneapolis

In the Minneapolis area, over 10,000 undocumented immigrants have been apprehended since the beginning of the second Trump administration.

Kristi Noem, Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security, shared these figures in a post on X on Monday.

Noem noted that in just the last six weeks, around 3,000 of those arrests occurred.

According to her, those detained have been involved in serious crimes, including violence against Americans and targeting children.

She followed up her initial post by sharing images of some of the arrested individuals, along with details of their offenses.

Noem specifically mentioned one man from Iran who was convicted of being a felon with a firearm; he was sentenced to 15 months in prison. This individual had ties to Hezbollah and had previously been a member of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

Another case involved a man from Liberia convicted of various crimes, including rape and robbery.

Additionally, an individual from Ecuador faced charges related to vehicular homicide stemming from an incident resulting in the death of a Minnesota mother.

Noem has openly criticized Governor Tim Walz and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, accusing them of shielding criminals instead of protecting their constituents.

She stated that because of their inaction, the number of arrested undocumented immigrants has surged, highlighting a significant public safety issue.

Furthermore, Noem announced that more U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers would be deployed to enhance immigration enforcement in the region.
