My older Dachshund wasn’t too happy when we brought home her much younger Pug mix brother. His energetic personality and clinginess disrupted the personal space she was used to, so it took her a bit to warm up to him. My Puggie kept trying to charm her with playful antics and relentless snuggling, and, eventually, he won her over. Now, they are practically inseparable.
Binky, the Bernese Mountain Dog, seemed to go through a similar adjustment when she became part of her new family. At first, Rocco, the Golden Retriever, was a bit hesitant to welcome his new sister, but thankfully, they’ve made some significant strides together.
In a TikTok shared by @thegoldenboysfredandrocs, Rocco was lounging on the couch, enjoying some downtime when Binky approached him for cuddles. He wasn’t having any of it and turned away, possibly hoping to drop a hint. But Binky didn’t take the hint and kept pushing for affection.
The video pointed out, “Rocco has been very slow to warm up to his new sister. But she keeps trying and trying to win his affection.”
While Rocco fidgeted around, Binky continued her mission to snuggle him. Eventually, she put her front paws on the couch, seemingly saying, “Alright big brother, enough is enough, time to let down those walls!”
In response, Rocco looked at Binky and, perhaps out of a sudden change of heart or maybe just tired of the standoff, he placed his paw on her for a hug. This sweet moment made their mom watching feel delighted.
