Former Trump associate Marjorie Taylor Greene criticizes the president's record on endorsements

Former Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, who recently stepped down after a fallout with President Donald Trump last year, criticized his record of support in a post on X. She expressed that Trump’s backing does not actually “drain the swamp,” but instead reinforces it, ensuring it persists. Greene claimed that Trump’s choice of candidates and agenda management is a responsibility, stating that voting for pro-Trump individuals with poor records contributes nothing to draining the swamp.

White House Press Secretary Davis Ingle responded to Greene’s remarks, asserting that Trump’s ability to forge coalitions has led to significant successes for the Republican Party, pointing out that more has been accomplished under his leadership than in past decades. Ingle claimed that Greene’s negativity only undermines her own position.

Greene’s criticism was sparked by a shared post from conservative commentator Daniel Horowitz, who pointed out that Trump has the means to shift policies by supporting those who may be hindering him. Greene agreed with Horowitz, calling his assertion “1000% true.” It’s noteworthy that last year, Trump had publicly criticized Greene, which preceded her announcement to resign.

In a separate note, Trump mentioned on Truth Social that he was withdrawing his endorsement of Greene, signaling that there were strong conservative individuals considering running against her in her district. He indicated that if the right candidate emerged, they would have his full support.
