"I stand by my vote": Democrat criticized for not wanting to deport sex-offending undocumented immigrants

Rep. Shri Thanedar (D-Mich.) faced notable criticism from Sean Hannity on Fox News after she opposed a bill mandating the deportation of illegal immigrants convicted of sex crimes. This stance highlights what some perceive as troubling Democratic priorities.

Meanwhile, Blaze TV host Sarah Gonzalez shared her disappointment with Thanedar, comparing her to Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.), calling them both foreign representatives in the government.

“We’re allowing foreigners to come here and tell us what America should be about,” Gonzalez commented, before airing a clip featuring Hannity and Thanedar.

“You voted against a bill requiring the deportation of illegal immigrants convicted of sex crimes. Can you explain your reasoning?” Hannity inquired.

“Anyone who breaks American laws, especially immigrants, should be deported,” Hannity asserted, but Thanedar countered, “No, I don’t regret that vote. No bill is perfect.”

Hannity pressed on, “What if it were your wife, sister, or daughter—would you want them to stay with someone who committed such a crime?”

Thanedar’s response didn’t appease his critics. He attempted to justify his decision with various explanations.

“I guess Shri Thanedar believes he can come here, critique us on governance, yet vote against deporting illegal aliens convicted of sexual offenses. It’s hard to understand his values,” Gonzalez remarked.

“The Democratic Party is struggling with its identity. They’re grappling with radicals within, prioritizing protection for illegal criminals, gang members, rapists, and child molesters,” she added.

“And of course,” she quipped, “Is President Trump really tackling fraud at the federal level? Nope, that’s not supported. If you back us in the midterms, we’ll not only safeguard illegal criminals but also ensure fraud remains rampant.”
