Get ready, because Bilt is unveiling more about its 2.0 program. This initiative includes three new credit cards, two ways to earn, and a brand-new currency called Bilt Cash.
Bilt Cash doesn’t replace Bilt Rewards points, which are actually the most valued currency in loyalty programs according to TPG’s January 2026 ratings. It’s the high-quality transfer partners that make points so appealing. Instead, Bilt Cash can be accumulated alongside points to access various credits, temporary status upgrades, the potential to earn additional points on purchases, and other exclusive perks within the Bilt framework.
This extra currency is also part of the welcome bonuses for the credit cards. For instance, you can earn 4% on non-housing expenses if you choose the earning option when signing up.
Of course, a lingering question since Bilt 2.0 launched has been: What exactly can you do with Bilt Cash?
Starting February 1st, we have some answers.
Bilt Provides New Details on Bilt Cash
In essence, Bilt Cash can be redeemed for helicopter rides via Blade, unlock premium rental day transfer bonus slots, and serve as credit with partners like Lyft and GrubHub. Keep in mind that there are monthly and annual caps on most options.
There are some pretty exciting opportunities to amplify returns on your spending through the Bilt Obsidian and Palladium cards (check rates and fees). With these cards, you earn 1 point for every dollar spent. So, for example, using the Palladium card means you’ll actually garner 3 points for each dollar spent on purchases.
Just to recap, here are the welcome bonuses for Bilt cards:
- Bilt Blue Card: Earn $100 in Bilt Cash upon approval.
- Bilt Obsidian Card: Get $200 in Bilt Cash if approved.
- Bilt Palladium Card: Earn 50,000 bonus points and Bilt Gold status (valid for the current year and through the following year) after spending $4,000 within the first three months. You’ll also receive $300 in Bilt Cash upon approval and an extra $200 annually.
With the Bilt 2.0 card, besides the introductory bonus, you can either earn 4% Bilt Cash (along with Bilt Points) on everyday purchases or choose not to earn Bilt Cash on those purchases and instead accumulate a percentage of points (up to 1.25 points) on rent or mortgage payments. A quick note: you’ll need to decide if your daily spending counts toward the spending limit to earn.

Exciting Ways to Use Bilt Cash
This is all fresh and likely to change, but here are some options for Bilt Cash that really stand out.
Earn 3 Points per Dollar on Everyday Purchases with the Bilt Palladium Card
As someone who tracks points, I find the ability to cash out $200 with Bilt Cash and earn an extra 1 point per dollar on non-housing spending (up to $5,000) very appealing. For both the Bilt Obsidian and Palladium cards, you can do this up to five times a year.
With the Obsidian card, the benefits look like this:
- 4 points per dollar on food or grocery purchases (up to $25,000 in annual bonuses on such purchases).
- 3 points per dollar on travel.
- 2 points per dollar in everyday spending.
The Palladium Card provides 3 points per dollar on everyday purchases.
With this perk, I can hardly believe it—TPG’s January 2026 valuation suggests a return of 6.6 cents for every dollar spent daily. If you utilize premium transfer partners like World of Hyatt or Atmos Rewards, or take advantage of Bilt’s usual Rental Day Transfer Bonuses, this makes for a solid option for anyone wanting to maximize daily spending.
Blade Helicopter Ride
If you manage to accumulate a good amount of Bilt Cash, using it with Blade seems like an excellent option for those experiences you may not usually consider.
For context, Blade is a helicopter service that shuttles you between Manhattan and JFK or Newark Liberty in mere minutes.
From what I’ve seen, most Blade flights start around $270 per seat (though they initially advertise a price of $195), meaning you could cover most Blade fares to NYC area airports with $350 in Bilt Cash—available twice a year.
Unlock the Next Status Tier of Transfer Bonuses on Rental Day
This option for Bilt Cash is intriguingly attractive, contingent on how each transfer bonus works and the necessary Bilt Cash for upgrade.
Suppose you’re holding Bilt Gold status, for instance. This option could enable you to use an unspecified amount of Bilt Cash to break into the next tier of transfer bonuses usually reserved for Platinum members.
With the December 2025 Rental Day Avios transfer bonus, instead of earning a 75% bonus as a Gold member, you could potentially opt for Bilt Cash to upgrade to a 100% transfer bonus available to Platinum members.
If you temporarily access this Platinum tier for a month and transfer 100,000 Bilt points (at 100% bonus), that’s 25,000 more Avios than the 75% you’d get as a Gold member with only 75,000 points. At a price of approximately $75 in Bilt Cash, that’s quite a value.
Earn Points When Paying Rent or Mortgage
Finally, the chance to use Bilt Cash to earn points on rent or mortgage payments really piques interest.
For every $1,000 spent with $30 in Bilt Cash, you earn 1 point per dollar on rent or mortgage expenses. So, if you pay $2,500 monthly, you’d need $75 in Bilt Cash to reap 2,500 Bilt Points. Of course, you can opt for less Bilt Cash for smaller point earnings.
This option might actually offer greater value than redeeming $200 for points on $5,000 spent with the Obsidian or Palladium cards. Utilizing $200 Bilt Cash could allow you to earn points for home payments up to $6,666. Rather than thinking about earning 1 bonus point per dollar daily, you could score points toward your home payments as well.
But, it’s worth noting this isn’t necessarily an exclusive option. If you have enough Bilt Cash, the best way to approach it might be, “Why not do both?”
Conclusion
Similar to navigating a vast Cheesecake Factory menu, Bilt 2.0’s rollout has presented a plethora of choices all at once.
The upside is you have various options for earning and spending Bilt Cash. That said, the sheer number of choices can be a bit overwhelming initially, especially since they’re not yet available.
The potential to earn 3 points for every dollar with the Palladium Card (achieved through redeeming $200 five times yearly with a Bilt Cash limit) stands out. Plus, using Bilt Cash for fee-free points on your rent or mortgage payments not only aligns with the Bilt program’s core but also represents a smart way to utilize Bilt Cash.
We’ll keep you updated as Bilt Cash launches and perhaps transforms over time.
