Liberty’s Upcoming Season Schedule
Mark your calendars.
The schedule for the Liberty’s upcoming season has been finalized.
After an early exit in last year’s playoffs and unfulfilled championship hopes, the Liberty is gearing up for a fresh start this spring with a new coach, likely a rookie, and a determination to reclaim their winning spirit.
New York will kick off its 30th season, the first under coach Chris DeMarco, on May 8 against the Connecticut Sun at Barclays Center.
Following that, the team will hit the road for a three-game trip, including visits to Portland on May 12 and May 14.
Back in Brooklyn, the Liberty will have their longest homestand of the season, featuring seven games. The upcoming 44-game season has two scheduled breaks: the All-Star weekend in Chicago from July 23-25 and an 18-day pause for the FIBA Women’s World Cup in early September.
The regular season is set to wrap up on September 24, though the Liberty will conclude their season a day earlier.
A Game to Watch
1. May 24 vs. Dallas: Paige Bueckers and the top overall draft pick are anticipated to make their Brooklyn debut. The Wings, who struggled last season with a 10-35 record, are expected to be more competitive this year.
2. May 27 and 29 vs. Phoenix: The Mercury, who ended the Liberty’s hopes of consecutive titles last year, will play back-to-back games at Barclays Center. The Liberty will then travel to Phoenix on August 1.
3. June 3 vs. Toronto: Sandy Brondello returns to Barclays Center as the head coach of one of the new WNBA teams, having been dismissed by the Liberty in September. The Liberty will visit Toronto twice on July 14 and September 20.
4. June 6 vs. Indiana: The previous season’s matchups were eventful, even with Caitlin Clark missing games. Last year, the Liberty posted a 3-1 record against Indiana. They will meet four times again, with two games in Brooklyn and two in Indianapolis.
5. June 23 vs. Las Vegas: The growing rivalry with the Aces intensifies as both teams have faced off in the last two postseasons. The defending champions are back, anchored by Aja Wilson, and will clash three times this season, with two games in Brooklyn and one in Vegas.
6. June 28 in Golden State: DeMarco and Sabrina Ionescu return to California, where DeMarco spent 13 years before joining the Liberty.
7. July 3, 11, September 18 vs. Minnesota: The Liberty will face the Lynx for the first time this season on July 3 at Barclays Center, with additional matches later in the season.
8. September 21 and 23 vs. Atlanta: The regular season wraps up with back-to-back home games against the Dream.

The season features two long road trips; one runs from June 21-28 in California and another from July 11-18 across several cities.
June and August will be particularly busy, with 11 games scheduled. They have nine games lined up in May and June, and four following the World Cup break.
