Marine veteran Michael Ryan Burke killed in Missouri robbery, four people arrested

This week, police reported that four individuals have been apprehended in connection to the robbery and subsequent shooting death of 42-year-old Marine veteran Michael Ryan Burke, which occurred on Sunday in Missouri.

Burke’s friend, Jerry Raifeis, relayed that Burke made a 911 call where he described his attacker and later sent a text to his mother and sister. According to Raifeis, Burke’s message read, “Hey, I’m dying, I love you.”

Details emerging from court documents indicate that the tragic incident took place during a Facebook Marketplace transaction involving a cell phone.

Authorities from Columbia arrested a woman, two men, and a juvenile in relation to Burke’s murder, as noted in a report on January 20. The arrests occurred in the 1400 block of Ridgemont Court.

Those arrested were identified as three individuals aged 18 and one juvenile. The arrest records outline charges including second-degree murder and armed criminal action among others.

Among the suspects, 18-year-old Alexis Bauman and Kobe Aust, both from Hallsville and Columbia respectively, face serious charges linked to the murder. Joseph Crane, another 18-year-old resident, faces a wide range of charges that include armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon.

In a heartfelt post on Facebook, a man named Tyler Woodsam shared his memories of Burke, calling him “a truly good human being” who had a positive influence on him and was deeply compassionate.

Woodsam reminisced about Burke’s supportive nature, particularly how he motivated him to maintain his sobriety, emphasizing the impact Burke had in his life.
