Incident at Detroit High School

A video has surfaced showing a female student at Denbigh High School in Detroit chasing a classmate with what appears to be a box cutter. The incident unfolded in a classroom while a teacher attempted to intervene.

Details regarding how this confrontation began remain unclear. The footage reveals a student, wearing a blue beanie and headphones, pointing towards another student who has a face mask on. The atmosphere seems tense as the masked student approaches, prompting the other to retreat and then dash across the classroom.

As the blue-beanie student exited the classroom, another student appeared at the doorway. The teacher tried to block the exit with a chair, seemingly trying to control the situation.

At one point, the box cutter fell from the student’s hand, but she quickly retrieved it and rushed into the hallway. One bystander was heard asking, “Is that a pocket knife?” as students continued to flee the area with faculty members in pursuit.

The school district issued a statement, confirming that a student had brought a box cutter to school and tried to attack another student. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries. The student involved has been arrested and is prohibited from returning to Denbigh or any other school in the district. Authorities say additional police presence will be ensured at the school the following day.

Detroit police have initiated an investigation into the incident, and inquiries are ongoing.
