Episode 6 Recap: Trust Issues and Strategic Moves

Sometimes, trusting your fellow competitors—sometimes referred to as “traitors”—can be a gamble. After the last challenge, everyone was tempted to grab a shield for safety, but in the end, they held back. The result? Everyone got immunity that night. As Episode 6 kicks off, the group gathers for breakfast (it seems they have a fresh supply of salmon) and there’s curiosity about whether the traitors committed a murder the previous evening. If even one of them had taken a shield, it could’ve resulted in someone being eliminated. This situation served as a real trust test, and while they all agreed to hold firm, some seemed like they might break that promise.

Ultimately, everyone made it to breakfast, surviving another day. However, it’s clear that trust will begin to wane this week, even among the traitors.

Once the traitors—Lisa Rinna, Rob Roush, and Candace Dillard Bassett—found out that there would be no murder, they quickly started plotting their next target, potentially aiming for Colton Underwood, who has been publicly naming Lisa. “I want to slit his throat!” Lisa says with a sneer. Her enthusiasm for the role is rather amusing. But, there’s a twist: Colton likes Lisa and starts warning his trusted allies, Dorinda and Rob R., that if he ends up dead, it’ll be due to her.

After breakfast, a plan forms among the loyalists to decide on an expulsion. Johnny Weir has run some numbers and believes he can eliminate anyone from an eight-person group, currently zeroing in on Ron Funches. Unfortunately, Ron hasn’t been treated very well on this show. His approach tends to be just being himself, which is often introverted. But then again, he did rub Dorinda the wrong way at the Round Table, which complicates things.

Rob R had a heart-to-heart with Ron while playing chess, something that seemed rare for Ron amid this competitive environment. Even if Rob is a traitor, it felt significant. (On a side note, Rob’s chess skills and grammar are both intriguing.)

The day’s challenge takes players to Alan Cumming’s eerie cabin in the woods—a venue known for its mix of scary and funny tasks. This time, it might be both the scariest and the most entertaining yet.

They are told to enter the cabin, where they face a series of clues aimed at identifying names on tombstones outside. After solving each clue, two players stand beside the relevant tombstone. The reward? $3,000 for each correctly identified name. But there’s a catch: if someone steals a shield from a grave, the money is lost. Just like last week, they’ve all agreed to avoid taking shields. The atmospheric clues are pulled off in all sorts of creative, spooky ways reminiscent of Disney magic: a giant Ouija board provides names, clues emerge from a typewriter, and yes, even a bloody woman screams at players when the lights go out. Everyone is visibly spooked—it’s entertaining to watch.

Alan seems particularly amused by Lisa’s ongoing screams of terror after their time in the cabin.

“Lisa is screaming over nothing,” he quips to the camera.

By the end, they manage to put $15,000 in the bank. Back at the castle, Johnny starts rounding up a crew of eight, asserting that someone must be expelled. In a surprising twist, the target shifts to Colton. This shocks Rob, who didn’t expect a coup against Colton. “They’re planning to vote Colton out tonight. I’m surprised,” he remarks, caught off guard.

While discussions around expulsion swirl, Colton plots a counter-strategy. “Instead of expelling a traitor, we’ll try to take one hostage,” Colton says, figuring out a way to trap Lisa during a game at the pool hall. He strikes a deal: he’ll protect her at the Round Table if she protects him with the turrets. Is he implying that the traitors and loyalists can work together, or is that just wishful thinking?

Lisa, unfazed, mutters, “What are you talking about? I’m a believer!” She also tells Colton that she thinks he’s a traitor. That’s a bold statement, though it seems it didn’t quite land for him.

The evening Round Table turns out to be quite chaotic. Again, Ron finds himself under fire, and he defends himself by pointing out that Colton led the charge against Porsha Williams, yet he still bears responsibility for her expulsion. “Who? Porsha and Tiffany?” Colton questions. Ron counters with a list, mentioning Michael, too, leading to some confusion and playful jabs about their mutual dislike of him. As the eight-person alliance—does that make for enough votes?—gathers, they aim their sights on Colton, accusing him of trying to control the game and not being a good loyalist. Lisa is taken aback by the accusations but wonders if she may escape Colton’s schemes.

Despite Colton’s push for support, Ron dramatically insists that they should vote out Colton, making sure to acknowledge each player along the way—except for Dorinda. His speech evokes emotion in Tara Lipinski, who interrupts, insisting Ron isn’t a traitor. Whatever the mood, it feels like a shift, with others starting to agree that Ron is loyal. As Ron gains allies, Colton decides his only move is to ensure Lisa is named in the next decision.

As the votes come in, it becomes clear that Johnny’s carefully crafted plan is falling apart, with a surprising number opting for someone other than intended. The vote turns out to be a nail-biter, landing closely between Lisa, Ron, and Colton.

Rob, torn between his connections to Ron and Colton, ends up voting for Lisa, which was certainly a risky move, especially as Ron ultimately gets voted out.

After Ron’s reveal of loyalty, Alan tries to lighten things by announcing a banquet at the castle that evening. It sounds festive, but with trust broken among the traitors, the atmosphere is tense. “This is going to be bad for Robbie Bobby,” Rob mentions. Just as Rob might have faced backlash from Lisa, she instead turns on Colton, criticizing him for expecting her to act a certain way simply because of her past as a housewife. “Don’t expect me to be a housewife,” she asserts emphatically.

And what will this banquet bring? Lisa appears ready to unleash some drama right in front of everyone.
