Reckless punk recorded on police body cam allegedly attempting to steal a car — but a taser can't even slow him down

Body camera footage from a Daytona Beach police officer shows an incident on January 14. The officer, while heading to a car dealership, spotted a suspect seemingly attempting to enter a vehicle with someone inside.

Concerned, the officer expressed his desire to prevent a possible carjacking.

As the incident unfolded, the officer exited his vehicle and attempted to take the keys from the truck’s ignition. Just then, an individual, later identified as 18-year-old Jayden Brown, dashed from the rear of the truck towards the driver’s door.

When ordered to “get on the ground,” Brown responded with repeated phrases of, “Oh, really?”—perhaps in a mocking tone.

With no alternative, the officer deployed his Taser. Brown reacted with a pained groan, his body stiffening against the open car door.

Following this, Brown seemed somewhat subdued, and officers placed him in handcuffs.

However, his demeanor quickly shifted.

He remarked to the surrounding officers, “I’ll be out by tomorrow,” seemingly unfazed.

The officer inquired about Brown’s age, to which he replied, “Maybe 20 years old. I might be 21. How would I know?”

As they prepared to remove the vehicle’s tags, Brown continued expressing a defiant attitude. He declared, “Whatever you want. Do it. It’s not mine. What happens if it’s stolen? What if there’s no VIN? I know people with military connections. My family has plenty of money. I haven’t stolen anything. I’m just trying to find my car.” He then started broadcasting the encounter on Instagram Live, demanding someone capture the moment.

He went on to insist, “Please release me from these handcuffs or I’ll lose my job tomorrow,” adding a taunting “Try it.”

The officers remained steadfast, while Brown continued to boast, claiming he “trades millions and trillions of dollars a day.” He even said, “In 18 years, I’ve increased your income by 20 billion times, so do something about it.”

Eventually, Brown was secured in a police vehicle, but he kept up his brash attitude, asserting, “You’re the one who put me in this van. Who do you think will be released tomorrow while you’re at work?”

Video evidence of Brown’s encounter with law enforcement was made available.

He faces multiple charges, including grand theft auto, burglary, and criminal mischief.

Those hoping for a change in Brown’s stance following his arrest may be let down.

At his first court appearance on January 15, the judge found sufficient evidence for charges related to larceny and attempted grand theft. Reports indicate he was released on his own recognizance that same day.

During the police transport, Brown boldly stated, “I’ll be out by tomorrow. It’s okay.” He reiterated his earlier challenge, mentioning, “You’re the one who put me in this van—who do you think is getting out tomorrow while you’re still at work?”

Authorities at the Volusia County Correctional Facility confirmed his release on January 15, with his next court appearance set for February.
