Did the Minnesota AG's entire career serve as a scheme to send money to Somalia?

Concerns About Minnesota Attorney General’s Career

Blaze TV host Sarah Gonzalez has raised serious allegations against Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison, suggesting that his political journey has been, perhaps, a long-term plot to divert funds to Somalia.

“It seems like Keith Ellison’s been orchestrating this scam for years, all to support the Somali scheme. It feels like it was his ultimate aim,” Gonzalez stated, pointing out Ellison’s tenure in Congress from 2007 to 2019 before he took on the AG role.

She further remarked, “You would think that with 12 years in Congress, he’d have many achievements, right? Many of the bills he sponsored passed… So, surely he must have made a mark on the Minnesota Legislature.”

However, she added, “Yet, really, there’s just one bill he proposed that made it through, and, well, that’s pretty much it.”

That legislation is known as the “Money Transfer Improvement Act of 2014.”

This law aimed to simplify cross-border payments for non-bank financial entities, meaning American funds could easily flow to foreign countries, Gonzalez explained.

In a conversation with the Mogadishu Times, Ellison shared that the primary focus was on “discussing how to ensure the ongoing flow of funds to Somalia.”

He expressed concerns regarding one of the banks involved in facilitating these remittances, noting their apprehensions about the associated risks and potential criminal implications.

“Honestly, it’s astonishing that such operations were in place for so long. The signs were all there, yet Keith Ellison has been seemingly involved for quite a while,” Gonzalez remarked in disbelief.

Ellison has also made the case that sending money to Somalia would ultimately benefit U.S. taxpayers.

Gonzalez challenged this assertion: “Can I please see evidence of how that’s mutually beneficial? We’re talking about a third-world country. I just can’t wrap my head around it.”

“It’s crucial we hold accountable for all this unchecked corruption over the decades,” she added emphatically.
